PROPERTY OVERVIEW:

A homestay old and rustic enough to make you feel like a pahari, authentic two floor architecture of the homestay with everything about this wooden home that’s built in traditional Himachali style will make you feel the locals life at a grassroots level. The homestay is positioned in a secluded corner and witnesses absolutely no disturbances from surrounding villages or towns that makes it the perfect getaway for those looking for some head space or alone time with a loved one.


STAY:

The stay is built in the vintage style aging back into historical times following traditional build and built using the incorporations of Himachali elements. It is an old structure with the capacity to accommodate 4 or 5 people, there are 2 rooms, you will be able to witness the splendour of natural beauty here.


WHAT TO EAT:

The hosts prepare a variety of dishes including the local food; Himachali dhaam. Apple orchards are found in plenty around the property so you could also be served fresh apples or apple jam prepared by the hosts that gives all those store bought apples a run for their money.

HOW TO REACH:

By Road (from Delhi)

  • Catch a bus to Bhunter (Volvo busses are available from Kashmere gate)
  • Get down at Bhunter and look for private cabs or tempos that run on sharing basis
  • Hire a private vehicle on sharing basis that is going to Barshaini
  • Get down at Barshaini and trek for half an hour
  • Once you see an open space, you have reached the camp site
  • The host will come pick you up from here

By Air

  • Nearest airport is the Bhunter airport
  • Get down at Bhunter and look for private cabs or tempos that run on sharing basis
  • Hire a private vehicle on sharing basis that is going to Barshaini
  • Get down at Barshaini and trek for half an hour

ABOUT THE HOSTS:

Yograj is the caretaker of Rudranag Homestay and is a very prompt and serving individual who decided to take up life in the mountains as a full time occupation. He is drawn towards the solitude offered by the hills and the peace one feels in the company of the silence.

Ever since he realized that hospitality and interacting with new people from all across the nation was something that interested him. Yograj lives in tough terrains and yet seems to enjoy every bit of it. His upbeat nature is what draws all the attention to the homestay.
